Genevieve Boulanger - E-RYT
Founder/Co-owner

Genevieve has been practicing holistic health and wellness since she was a child, attending her first yoga class at age six. Her passion for a sustainable yoga practice comes from having a hippy Mother who encourages 'deep breathing' over traditional medicine, and studying classical ballet where a genuine connection with the body is necessary in finding grace. 

In Genevieve's class the focus is on pranayama (breathwork) and finding freedom through curating alignment within the body.

Her approach encompasses mindfulness and meditation where the exploration of Yoga is celebrated as a sacred time to go inside and find a place that elevates and inspires from within.

Genevieve was born in Savannah, GA, went to Ohio University, and lives in Huntersville, NC with her husband and two spoiled dogs.  

Obsessed with travel, Genevieve has found passion through leading yoga retreats and creating space for individuals to discover their own divine inner strength.

When Genevieve is not on her mat, you can find her with her camera – capturing Love & Light.

Amber Kay Miller - RYT Trainee
Studio Manager

Amber Kay (“AK Rowdy”) is a Vinyasa yoga teacher trainee, integrative wellness & life coach certification pursuer, owner of a pet sitting business, blogger, Corporate refugee, and retired basketball player. Battling her old foes, chronic migraines and chronic fatigue, she found relief through yoga and meditation.  Amber is passionate about community, sharing knowledge of wellness with others, and helping everyone takes steps to live the lives they imagine.

Amber has an infectious laugh and loves to let her inner child come out to play at costume contests, game nights, and day to day life. She is pro-naps and has been known to pack newspapers and plastic in her bag to take home to recycle.  When she isn’t in the yoga studio or chopping vegetables, you can find her outdoors walking a dog or two, hiking, paddle boarding, curled up in a hammock with a good book, traveling, or floating in the lake.

Karen Burkhart - RYT
Lead Yoga Instructor

Karen has dedicated herself to the practice, study, and teaching of yoga since discovering its joys and benefits in 2004 while searching for alternative ways to heal from a back injury. She immediately noticed a physical and mental change, and as her life began to transform she felt inspired to share the gift of yoga with others. In 2012 Karen’s injury progressed and after healing herself from back surgery using yoga and related therapies she completed her initial 200-hour RYT training with YogaWorks in Valencia, California. It is there where she gained a deeper understanding of movement patterns and biomechanics that has laid the foundation to her Vinyasa based teaching style that links breath with movement and puts a heavy emphasis on alignment. She strives to bring a sense of fun, freedom and kindness to her classes, imparting nuggets of yogic wisdom along the way.  Her intention is to cultivate happiness and balance through mindful living, and she hopes to inspire students to do the same.   Karen is currently working on her 300-hour Yoga Therapeutics training with the Asheville Yoga Center where she will look to blend her learning’s and experience to better help those recovering from, or living with, injury or illness.

Laura Chilcoat - RYT

Laura’s first attempt at yoga ended with her leaving at the end of the class to race for some coffee because the process made her so anxious...she didn’t know how to let go!  After about 4 months something “clicked” and she never looked back.  Yoga was a refuge from her busy day-to-day life.  The challenging physical practice was complimented by the mental clarity she felt after each practice. And it lasted for days.  After growing in her personal practice for several years, Laura decided that sharing the joy yoga brought was part of her calling.  She became a RYT in January of 2016.  Although Laura loves practicing all forms of yoga, she particularly enjoys challenging herself with postures that build power and strength.  Interestingly, though, her teaching passion lies in leading longer, more meditative practices like deep stretch and yin yoga. She believes guiding her students in quieting the mind is one of the most valuable gifts she has to share.  Laura looks forward to continuing to grow her own practice through teaching, learning, and sharing the 8 limbed path of yoga.

Lisa Konstandt - OT, CHHC, RYT
Health Coach

Lisa’s passion is healing and helping. After many years in the medical field as an Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Specialist, she took a hiatus to raise two beautiful daughters. During that time, her focus turned to the health and wellness of her family. Lisa quickly saw the results of incorporating nourishing whole foods, daily mindfulness, and yoga. The impact these practices had on her family was tremendous. She needed to share that with her community.  In 2012, Lisa became a Certified Holistic Health Coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition taught by the world's top health experts. Through one-on-one sessions, group workshops, and interactive programming, Lisa’s clients receive personalized wellness plans based on their own bioindividuality . To round off this education and deepen her yoga practice, she obtained her 240-hour RYT training in 2016. Lisa's classes are a combination of fun, awareness, and compassion so students feel both grounded and uplifted. Lisa knows yoga is for everyBODY. Whether you are pursuing strength, flexibility, decreased stress, increased focus, improved posture, deeper connection, or increased body awareness, she believes ALL who seek out this 5,000 year old discipline are ultimately looking to yolk mind, body and soul. Through her loving and compassionate teaching and coaching, Lisa can help you reach your goals.

Megan Hively - RYT
Lead Yoga Instructor

Megan has had a passion for encouraging others to feel empowered in their lives and amazing in their bodies ever since she can remember.  When she took her first yoga class in 2001, she noticed right away how this modality fit with her passions.  It was love at first inhale!  She knew it was something she wanted to share with others and in 2012,  she took the leap, left the corporate world, and began her instructing journey.  Currently, you can find her teaching yoga, meditation, and dance fitness in the Cornelius area as well as working one-on-one with clients as a personal trainer, Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner, and Behavioral Change Coach.  She also works with local sports teams as the Yoga Coach for a college soccer team and the Fitness Coach for the Charlotte Checkers' CheckMates.  
Megan has a Master’s in Exercise Science, a Personal Training Certification through NASM, is a RYT through Yoga Alliance, and is a Certified Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner.  She also has certifications in Corrective Exercise and Behavioral Change through NASM.

Karen Hallman - RYT
Lead Yoga Instructor

Karen loves yoga! She credits yoga for her better sense of self, deeper inner stillness, and empowerment over her life. When she practices, her body gets stronger and her mind becomes clearer. It’s taught her that she has the opportunity to choose what kind of life she’s going to live and how she’s going to live it. She’s learned to be still and become more aware of her surroundings and stimulants, and control over what she allows into her life. She’s learned to use her breath to get her through difficult as well as exciting times.

Karen’s first yoga experience was in 2004 when she was pregnant. She immediately realized the health benefits of yoga and began practicing. She went through teacher training and received her 200 hour certification in 2011. Yoga encompasses things she wants in life - mindfulness, presence, joy, simplicity, gratitude. You can expect a strengthening and opening practice with humor, playfulness, and encouragement with Karen.

Donna Little - RYT

Donna’s yoga journey began almost 14 years ago on a dirty kindergarten floor during an after school program where her children attended school.  The intensity of the “after yoga” feeling she experienced assisted in triggering a slight addiction to the practice that continues today.   Until this point in her life nothing else in the field of “self- care” had made such an impact on her.  Her life is super-fast paced & yoga is her pit stop.  Showing up to the mat with purpose & intention has given her the opportunity to continually build & add to her toolbox of Life.  Yoga has given her the calm of knowing that it’s as simple as unrolling your mat & just showing up…Surrender to Resistance became her Mantra.

Donna grew up in Tennessee, moved to NC in 1991 to be with her boyfriend who soon became her husband & they have two mini me’s , Jesse 19 & Haley 18... (Oooommmmm) & the sweetest little long haired Daschund you’ve ever seen in your whole life!

Donna completed her 240 hour RYT certification in 2016 with Awakenings Yoga Studio in Huntersville, NC. Leading & simply encouraging others to their mats… it’s where we all start.  Little by little, making a difference, one breath at a time.

Suzy Biddiscombe - RYT
Children's Yoga Lead

Suzy took her first yoga class as an easy college credit in 2000 and has been practicing ever since. Yoga has helped her anxiety and given her a greater sense of her body and mind. Since then, Suzy has been on a journey to live a more positive life and loves sharing that joy with others. As a yoga instructor, Suzy wants to demonstrate that anyone can practice yoga and teach her students how they, too, can lead a more healthy and positive life.

Katie Bleuer - RYT

After moving to NC, Katie felt heightened anxiety and soon panic attacks plagued her life’s experience. She invested time into a regular yoga practice and pranayama, or “breath work”. and quickly she discovered the tools to manage her anxiety were within herself. As a bonus, she found a deeper connection to her true nature. Katie’s passion for helping others, coupled with a love for eating whole foods and yoga, led her to complete her 240-hour RYT training at Awakenings Yoga Studio in 2016. Her teaching style is wholesome, grounded and light-hearted.

Lauren Olack - RYT

Pittsburgh native Lauren embarked on her yoga journey nearly a decade ago, when soccer injuries incited the reconstruction of each of her ACL’s and ultimately left her seeking a lower impact form of physical activity.  After college, the start of her career in Logistics prompted a move to Los Angeles and created the need for relaxation and stress relief that other forms of exercise did not provide.  Only sporadically attending yoga classes over the next several years, Lauren did not relish in the full spectrum of mental and spiritual benefits that yoga can offer for some time to come.

Transferring from Los Angeles to Charlotte in 2012 cultivated a major shift in Lauren's path and in early 2014 she found what was then known as Oasis Yoga Center in Huntersville, NC. Here a completely new relationship with Yoga was forged and on a much deeper, more spiritual level. Lauren began a daily practice almost immediately.  She completed her 240-hour Vinyasa YTT program at Awakenings Yoga Studio in Huntersville, NC in 2016. Lauren icontinues to seek out furthering education to deepen both her physical and spiritual practice of Yoga.

Dr. Deanna Didiano, DO

Deanna Didiano, DO attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned a B.S. in Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Sciences. She is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer and received a doctorate of osteopathic medicine in 2012. During medical school, she completed over fifty hours of community service, thereby becoming a Silver T.O.U.C.H. (Translating Osteopathic Understanding into Community Health) Recipient.

She went on to complete Family Medicine Residency at Cabarrus Family Medicine in Concord, NC. where she focused her training on patient centered care. Dr. Didiano went on to complete a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Cone Health in Greensboro, NC before settling in Denver, NC to practice. She currently practices both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine in Lincoln County. Deanna is a team physician for several high schools in the area and an advocate for the “exercise is medicine” movement. She practices at both East Lincoln Primary Care in Denver, NC and at Sports Medicine Injury Center-Lincoln in Lincolnton, NC.

Outside of work Dr. Didiano likes to spend her time with friends and family and enjoys hobbies such as cooking, yoga, hiking, camping, and painting.

Jessica Baker - RYT

Jessica’s love for yoga started out more like an awkward blind date. For some reason, she continued to go back to her mat, and her love for yoga blossomed. She fell in love with how yoga was transforming her life from the inside out. Wanting to share this gift with others and deepen her own practice, she completed her 240 hour RYT training in 2016. When not in the studio, Jessica is event planning, boating on Lake Norman, or traveling with friends. She has combined her passion for  yoga + adventure and collaborates with iShine Yoga to lead trips domestically and abroad. Once deemed a “facilitator of fun,” she doesn’t take herself too seriously, on or off the mat.  Jessica’s classes promise to be challenging and fun.  Her goal is to have students enjoy the self-discovery of yoga in a positive and laid-back way.  She believes yoga is for every body and is passionate about helping others feel comfortable and confident throughout the practice. Whether it is Deep Stretch or an upbeat Vinyasa Flow, Jessica’s goal is to have her students shining brighter and feeling lighter than when they started.
